FESTIVAL OF ONE ACT PLAYS.
Sunday 29th September 2019 at Lowther Pavilion, Lytham St Annes.
We are delighted to announce that the 2019 Festival of One Act Plays was a huge success. Lowther Pavilion played host to the event for the first time and proved to be a perfect venue for our six theatrical companies to work in. A professional theatre with access to a superb lighting and sound technician, experienced stage manager and wonderful front of house personnel put the seal of excellence on this great event.
Adjudicator, Maryrose Swarbrick commented that she was impressed with ‘the amount of talent on display’ and the appreciative audience showed their enjoyment with enthusiasm after each performance – the penultimate play actually received a standing ovation. Praise indeed.
The societies that took part this year were; Poulton Drama performing ‘Between Mouthfuls’ by Alan Ayckbourn. The Players Theatre performing ‘See You Tomorrow’ by Frank Vickery. Marton Operatic performing ‘Cox and Box’ by Gilbert and Sullivan. Audlem Theatre Company performing ‘Heavens Close (the care home from hell)’ by Colin Cliffe. ACross the Boards performing ‘One Is Too Many’ by Anna Cross. Fit N’ Active Theatre Company performing ‘Theatrical Digs’ by Jean McConnell.
